Katrina’s Wellbeing journey

Published 11 April, 2024

Katrina has completed the Mid-Sussex wellbeing service and has been happy to share some of her experiences with us and the positive results she has seen since taking part.

What did you enjoy about the programme?

I found the constant support helpful. Having someone to keep me accountable kept me motivated all the way through. Furthermore, the information from the coach and online course cleared up what works and what I should focus on.

What changes did you make to your lifestyle?

I have become more physically active, progressing very slowly from a little bit of swimming and walking a week to daily stretches and exercise, more swimming and Pilates. I also find eating healthy comes more naturally to me. Times like Christmas can still throw me off a bit. However, I find it easy to transition back to having more healthy foods and water.

What challenges did you face with the programme, and how did you overcome them?

My lower back and hip became quite bad in the middle of the programme causing my activity to decrease. We looked at gently improving my mobility and doing low impact activities that did not aggravate it. Now I have a full exercise routine but still have to careful.

What changes have you seen in any measurements that have been taken?

I have lost weight, significantly improved my mobility and joint soreness.

Do you have any advice for those starting the programme?

It is a really good programme for seeing self-improvement. Also, it is not too demanding and gives you enough space to grasp new life habits.
