Module summary 10: Your mind

Our thoughts are so important because they affect our feelings and emotions, our behaviours and our physical reactions too. 

We cannot always change our emotions or our physical experience and feelings, but we can consciously change how we speak to ourselves. 

Your mind and body are very closely linked. Looking after your mental wellbeing and your emotional needs will benefit your physical health, and vice versa. 

Key points for looking after yourself:  

  • Be realistic and rational over what you can achieve  
  • Try not to be judgmental with yourself if you don’t always succeed or meet your own expectations   

Ask for what you want using assertive language. This helps to ensure that you are not sacrificing your own happiness whilst still being considerate to others!
