Welcome to Xyla

As you’ve recently been referred to receive digital mental health therapy with Xyla, we’d like to tell you a little more about us. We are an established healthcare organisation, and we work closely with the NHS to provide mental health support.

Who we are

As a dedicated healthcare organisation, our goal is to improve people’s lives and alleviate the demands of the UK healthcare system. One of the ways we do this is by supporting the NHS in providing digital mental health therapy for patients who have been referred. You can rely on us for a full programme of support from your very first step.

We’re also proud to be part of Acacium Group, a leading global healthcare delivery partner.

What we do

We offer mental health therapy sessions, providing services for specific mental health conditions such as low mood, depression, and anxiety. The programme usually follows a structure of weekly sessions held remotely online and over the phone.

Meet the mental health support team

Our Xyla clinicians have lots of experience in providing specialist mental health support. You are welcome to read more about them and their areas of expertise:

Rebeka Garbutt

Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

Hello, I’m Rebeka. I have been a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for 3 years, and a Senior Practitioner for one year. I have a qualification in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Supervising Low Intensity Practitioners. A big proportion of my role is supervising the Low Intensity Network who complete assessments for services and guided self-help, a type of CBT. Another big area of my role is being part of the duty team. I support in making clinical decisions on risk and safeguarding queries. This also involves contacting patients, completing referrals to a secondary care service and liaising with the crises team and our partnership services. I also debrief practitioners after calls with patients. I carry out administrative tasks too, including reviewing recovery statistics and supporting patients in reaching these.

The treatment we offer can support several different mental health conditions. During your first session, you will talk with your therapist to identify the difficulties you are facing and set specific goals. You can then address and work towards these goals at every following session.

Guided self-help

This is an evidence-based approach to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). We will help you identify and change negative thought patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and acting. Guided self-help can treat mental health conditions including depression and anxiety disorders.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

CBT gives you practical tools and advice for managing the symptoms of mental health conditions. It is a short-term yet effective treatment that provides you with ongoing skills to take control of your thoughts and behaviours. CBT is used in the treatment of a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Outcomes after treatment

We ask all patients to complete a questionnaire about their symptoms at every weekly session. This helps our therapists to track progress and ensure sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each patient. The recent outcomes from these questionnaires of patients who completed treatment showed that:

What our patients say

We invited our patients to share their feedback and views about their mental health treatment. Here’s what they had to say:

“At first, I was reluctant to proceed with the sessions. I thought I was managing okay but I wasn’t facing up to what was actually going on in my life. Each session left me feeling such understanding and clarity. I didn’t plan what I was going to say, I just spoke from the heart. I was blown away every time with my therapist breaking any issues down so it makes sense. I feel calm and have definitely gained confidence so I would advise anyone that is thinking about it to go for it as the benefits are life changing.”

“I would just like to provide some feedback and say how wonderful my therapist was. Not only helping me with applying the mental health modules and working on better handling the sources of my depression, but particularly in being well versed and happy to discuss LGBT+ issues, which were very important for me to talk about during my sessions due to my ongoing gender transition. I found my therapist to be very professional, understanding and friendly.”
