Meal planning during TDR

During the Total Diet Replacement (TDR) stage of your programme, you have the freedom to choose which TDR products you take and when. Taking your TDR products at regular intervals throughout the day, similar to a regular meal pattern, will help you manage your hunger and energy levels.

Products can be enjoyed simply as per packet instructions, heated or blended with ice, or with 0kcal flavourings added. Below, you can find some ideas for how to take your TDR products over the course of a day. These are just suggestions, as you may have ordered different products or prefer to vary the products you take day to day.

Whatever you choose, it’s important that you have all four products per day, and drink 2 litres of fluid per day in addition to the products. Water, unsweetened black coffee/tea, sugar free, diet, and zero drinks all count towards your fluid intake.

When planning your TDR, consider the following:

  • What time of day? Is this your breakfast, lunch, evening meal?
  • Which TDR product will you have? Do you prefer something sweet or savoury for this meal?
  • Where will you have this TDR product and how will you serve it? At home or at work? In a bowl, favourite mug or tall glass with a straw?
  • Do you need any extra equipment or ingredients such as a blender or flavourings?
