Claire Fisher

Claire Fisher is an experienced Chief Nurse whose work is shaped by more than 24 years’ experience across senior clinical, operational and leadership roles in acute, community and digital healthcare settings. Her early career was grounded in frontline nursing practice, where she supported patients across a wide range of clinical environments. These formative years built a deep understanding of patient safety, clinical quality and compassionate care, forming the foundation of her calm, assured and people-centred leadership approach today.

Background and expertise

Claire has extensive expertise in clinical governance and quality assurance, leading and developing governance frameworks that support safe, effective and patient-centred care. Her work spans insourcing, outsourcing, virtual services, mental health, diagnostics and community care for both adults and children. She has led complex clinical transformation programmes, including digital and virtual care pathways, and has significant experience embedding learning from incidents, complaints and PSIRF investigations into sustainable service improvement.

Alongside her operational leadership, Claire plays a central role in professional and multidisciplinary engagement. As Chair of Xyla’s Medical Advisory Group, she works closely with senior leaders and external stakeholders to align services with national frameworks, regulatory requirements and the wider Acacium Group governance model. She is also the CQC Registered Manager, overseeing regulatory compliance and supporting services to consistently meet and exceed Care Quality Commission standards.

In her role at Xyla, Claire provides strategic, professional and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of clinical services. She oversees the professional frameworks that support clinicians, including clinical supervision, competency development and robust mechanisms for escalation, assurance and continuous improvement.
