Outpatient Dermatology Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support Dermatology Outpatient Clinics within NHS Lothian. Working alongside Consultants and Nursing staff, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring clinics run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support patients attending Dermatology outpatient appointments.
• Assist Consultants and Nursing staff with patient care and clinic preparation.
• Act as a chaperone for patients where required.
• Accurately record and update patient information.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
• Adhere to infection prevention, control, and patient confidentiality policies.
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Experience

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a healthcare setting.
• Previous Dermatology experience as a Healthcare Assistant.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
• Good understanding of patient confidentiality and infection control procedures.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Desirable Experience

• Phlebotomy skills.
• Previous experience working within the NHS.

Requirements

• Current PVG clearance.
• Availability to work regular weekday and weekend shifts.
• Ability to complete all mandatory training prior to commencement.
