Dermatology Healthcare Assistant

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to support Dermatology Outpatient Clinic within NHS Lothian. You will work alongside Consultants and Nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care and help ensure clinics run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support patients attending Dermatology outpatient appointments.
• Assist clinical staff with patient care and clinic preparation.
• Chaperone patients where required.
• Record and update patient information accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
• Follow infection control and patient confidentiality policies.
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Experience

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a healthcare setting.
• Previous experience in Dermatology as a HCA
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a busy clinical environment.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and infection control procedures.
• Ability to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

Desirable Experience

• Phlebotomy skills.
• Experience working within the NHS.

Requirements

• PVG clearance
• Availability for regular weekday and weekend shifts.
• Ability to complete mandatory training before starting.
