Carolyn Malkin is an experienced Clinical Supervisor at Xyla Digital Therapies, supporting both adults and children and young people (CYP) with a grounded, compassionate approach. Her career spans more than three decades across mental health, social care, housing support and education, giving her a rich understanding of how people’s experiences, environments and relationships shape their wellbeing. For the past 19 years, she has focused her work within therapeutic practice, building on early roles in supported housing and community services that continue to influence her holistic, whole‑person perspective.
Carolyn is dual accredited with BABCP and UKCP and registered with the CNHC, bringing together Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, Hypno‑Psychotherapy and EMDR within an integrated, evidence‑based practice. She has completed extensive additional training, including a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, CBT‑E for eating disorders, and specialist learning in PTSD, neurodiversity, long-term health conditions and challenging behaviour, all of which strengthen her ability to tailor therapy around everyone’s needs.
Her clinical experience spans CAMHS work in Solihull, Healthy Minds services, private practice and school‑based therapy, alongside many years supervising therapists who support both adults and CYP. This breadth of experience allows her to understand not only the young people she works with, but the systems and pressures surrounding them, from family dynamics to school environments, to the growing impact of digital life.
Carolyn is especially skilled at helping young people explore belonging, identity and neurodiversity. She focuses on meeting them where they are, using curiosity, gentle questioning, role modelling and creative techniques to help them make sense of their experiences and feel more confident in who they are.
“My work is about creating a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, brave enough to explore and supported enough to grow. I’m driven by helping individuals recognise their strengths, build confidence and find connection, whether that starts with one conversation or one small step.”
