Assessments with Xyla

At Xyla, we’re dedicated to offering thoughtful and comprehensive ADHD and autism assessments for both adults and children. We understand that everyone’s needs are different, so we provide flexible options for both in-person and virtual assessments, whatever works best for you.

Our assessments are thorough and compassionate, focusing not just on challenges, but also on each individual’s unique strengths. Here’s what you can expect from a typical assessment with us:

What to expect

Initial questionnaires

You’ll begin by completing a set of questionnaires, which our team will carefully review and analyse. For children’s assessments, these are filled out by parents or guardians.

Additional Questionnaires:

We may also ask someone close to you—like a friend, partner, parent, sibling, or colleague—to complete a short questionnaire. If you have any school or health reports, feel free to share those too—they can be really helpful. These questionnaires will only be sent with your consent.

Assessment Sessions:

  • Choose between online or face-to-face sessions.
  •  You or your child will take part in observations and a detailed clinical interview with our experienced team.
  •  Adults are welcome to bring someone along for support.
  • For children, parents or guardians are invited to attend the sessions too.

Multi-Disciplinary Team Review:

Our team of professionals will come together to review all the information.

They’ll discuss and agree on any diagnoses.

We’ll also consider what support might be helpful for you moving forward.

Feedback Session:

You’ll have a follow-up session (online or by phone) with the clinician who led your/your child’s assessment.

We’ll talk through the results, what they mean, and any next steps—like referrals for therapy or other support

Report:

You’ll receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report after your feedback session.

Our reports follow NICE guidelines and are recognised by the NHS and Local Authorities.

Our approach

At Xyla, we’re here to make the assessment process as supportive and informative as possible. Our goal is to help you better understand you or your child’s strengths and challenges and to ensure you have the right support in place for the future.
