What will you be doing? 

As a registered Nurse you will manage a caseload of clients who require specialist continence nursing care . You will undertake TWOC (trial without catheter). referring clients on to other specialist clinicians for further investigations and/or treatment as appropriate .

 

You will also perform investigations including ultrasound bladder scanning, urine testing, uroflowmetry, digital rectal examination and pelvic floor muscle assessment demonstrating and maintaining competence at a specialist level.

Undertaking male and female catheterisation in a community setting, including suprapubic catheters working in collaboration with GPs and other clinicians in you will plan and deliver care.

 

Working effectively with other agencies such as social services implementing care, during the day which will include planned home visits. This assignment will last up to 6 months and offers an enhanced day rate.

 

As part of managerial duties, you will contribute to the implementation, monitoring and reporting of performance. Ensuring a timely and correct entry of clinical and statistical data.

 

You will be initiative-taking with your own professional development through active learning and reflective practice. And be aware of, and act in accordance with, the NMC Code of Conduct, Standards and Guidelines.

 

Essential requirements:

  • B5/B6 Registered Nurses
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant UK experience
  • Bladder and Bowel / Continence
  • Acute medicine
