Xyla Elective Care is currently recruiting an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to support a community-based service delivering onsite clinic appointments in London.

Contract Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Length: Approx. 12 weeks
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
  • Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver onsite clinic-based paediatric occupational therapy assessments
  • Provide health provision assessments only and contribute to EHCP assessments
  • Work with children and young people aged 0–19 years
  • Complete:
    • Functional needs assessments
    • Clinical assessments and reports
    • Home and school programmes and advice
    • Review and treatment plans
  • Deliver up to four intervention sessions per child where appropriate
  • Support and empower parents, carers, and educational settings
  • Assessment time allocation:
    • 1.5 hours for new assessments
    • 45 minutes for follow-up assessments
    • 15 minutes admin per session
    • 1 hour report writing
    • 30 minutes EHCP contribution

Daily Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled clinic appointments in line with agreed caseload
  • Carry out paediatric OT assessments and interventions
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Record assessments and outcomes on EMIS
  • Produce letters to parents, GPs, and relevant professionals
  • Submit referrals where required
  • Complete discharge reports when appropriate
  • Send daily workload confirmation and service delivery reports
  • Complete daily data capture
  • Submit additional reports for DNAs and urgent cases
  • Liaise with the wider MDT and escalate concerns as required
  • completing smart sheets reports daily

Experience Required

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Proven paediatric OT experience
  • Experience completing EHCP assessments and reports
  • Up-to-date Children’s Safeguarding training (essential)

Training and Administration

  • Completion of EMIS community modules (approximately 3 hours, virtual)
  • Training to be completed prior to first shift
  • Possible onsite orientation
  • Daily documentation and reporting completed via EMIS
