Neuro Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) – London

Xyla Elective Care is currently recruiting an experienced Neuro Speech & Language Therapist to support a community-based Neuro Rehabilitation service in London.

Contract Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: Approx. 12 weeks
• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
• Working Hours:
• 08:30 – 17:00

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face domiciliary visits within the community
• Manage own daily diary, scheduling and patient bookings
• Assess and treat patients with:
• Stroke
• Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
• Parkinson’s Disease
• Motor Neurone Disease (MND)
• Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
• Provide specialist assessment and intervention for:
• Dysphagia
• Aphasia
• Motor speech disorders
• Use SLT equipment (small stock available at a local civic centre)
• Complete all required paper-based assessments
• Produce:
• Initial assessment letters to GPs
• Discharge letters when patients are ready for discharge
• Attend weekly Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings
• Tuesdays, 09:00–10:00

Daily Responsibilities

• Complete and attend scheduled patient visits
• Update and manage patient notes and documentation accurately
• Send a daily workload update via team email
• Participate in daily WhatsApp check-ins with the wider team
• Complete daily service delivery reports and data capture
• Ensure all clinical documentation is completed in a timely and compliant manner
• Communicate effectively with MDT colleagues and escalate concerns where required
• Completing smart sheets reports daily

 Experience Required

• Proven experience working within neuro rehabilitation
• Strong clinical experience in:
• Dysphagia
• Aphasia
• Motor speech disorders Training & Administration

• Completion of EMIS community modules (approx. 3 hours, virtual)
• Training must be completed 3 days prior to first shift
• Daily documentation and reporting completed via EMIS
• Ongoing compliance with service reporting requirements
