Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Nurse – Weekend Service in Wales

Role Overview

Xyla Elective Care is seeking experienced nurses to support weekend endoscopy services at Ysbyty Gwynedd. This service includes endoscopy and bowel screening lists across multiple rooms.

Service Type:
Endoscopy (Onsite – 4 rooms each weekend)

Location: Ysbyty Gwynedd, Penrhos Road, Bangor LL57 2PW

Staff Required: Endoscopy Nurses (in-room)

Contract Pattern: Saturdays and Sundays only (ongoing until September/October)

Pay Rate: £308 per day (PAYE)

Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 (1-hour unpaid lunch; flexibility possible)

Pathway Overview:

• 3 admission rooms connect to 3 scoping rooms via a central corridor
• Admission nurse completes obs, cannulation, and patient prep
• In-room nurse supports Consultant, administers sedation, and completes WHO checklist
• Post-procedure, patient transitions to Stage 1 recovery, then Stage 2 recovery (refreshments provided)
• Non-sedated patients may bypass Stage 1 recovery

Duties Include:

• Admission, in-room support, and recovery
• Reporting in unit, including prescriptions
• Flagging urgent patients for MDT review
• Reviewing Ops Manual for treatment timelines

Training:

Medilogic (online): Must be completed by the Tuesday before the weekend shift

EMS: TBC, likely online
