Contract Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our client’s pre-assessment team located in Great Yarmouth. The successful candidate will carry out pre-operative assessments for surgical patients, ensuring accurate documentation, escalating as necessary, and working collaboratively with the existing team.
Key Responsibilities
•    Conduct pre-assessment clinics for surgical patients, ensuring all documentation is complete and escalated for further review when required.
•    Perform clinical tasks such as:
o    Drawing blood
o    Taking observations
o    Conducting ECGs
o    Taking MRSA swabs
•    Collaborate with the existing trusts team and work independently when required.
•    Complete admin tasks during clinic sessions, including documentation, email follow-ups, and smart sheet reporting of DNAs, urgent patients, and any issues.

Requirements
•    Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in pre-assessment.
•    Worked in Pre-Operative Assessment in the last 12 months. 
•    Current experience performing pre-operative checks.
•    BLS or ILS certification.
•    Phlebotomy skills and ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking observations, ECGs, and MRSA swabs.
