Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Nurse – Weekend Service in Wales

Service Type:
Endoscopy & Bowel Screening (Onsite – 3 rooms each weekend)

Every third weekend: 1 room dedicated to Bowel Screening, 2 rooms for Endoscopy.

Contract Details:

• Start Date: immediate.
• Contract Length: 12 months
• Working Days: Saturdays & Sundays
• Travel & Accommodation Allowance: Covered

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparing Patients for Procedures: Educating patients about what to expect during the endoscopy procedure, obtaining medical histories, ensuring consent forms are completed and that patients are safe for their planned procedure.

1. Assisting During Procedures: Working closely with the endoscopist to hand instruments, adjust equipment, and ensure the patient’s safety throughout the procedure. This will include monitoring vital signs, managing patients’ comfort and acting as an advocate for our patients.

1. Administering Medications: Administering medications as prescribed and monitoring the patient’s reaction to ensure comfort and safety.

1. Monitoring Patient Recovery :Observing patients in the post-procedure recovery area, assessing their vital signs, and ensuring they are stable before discharge.

1. Patient Education and Follow-up: Providing post-procedure instructions, including information on signs of complications, dietary restrictions, and necessary follow-up appointments.
