Our screening services

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening

Men aged 65 and over are routinely invited for a simple ultrasound to check for an enlargement in the main blood vessel carrying blood from the heart through the abdomen.

Bowel cancer screening

People aged 60 to 74 are routinely invited to provide a stool sample to check for hidden blood, which can be an early sign of bowel cancer.

Breast cancer screening

Women aged 50 to 71 are routinely invited for a simple breast X-ray (mammogram) to detect early signs of breast cancer before symptoms appear.

Cervical cancer screening

Women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 are invited for a quick test to check for cell changes that could lead to cervical cancer.

Lung cancer screening

People aged 55 to 74 at higher risk (such as smokers) may be invited for a low-dose CT scan to detect early signs of lung cancer.

Prostate cancer screening

Men over 50 can request a blood test (PSA test) to check for changes that might indicate prostate cancer, after discussing benefits and risks with a doctor.

Lung cancer screening

The NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme is a key part of the NHS’s shift from treatment to prevention, aiming to reduce health inequalities and improve survival rates through early detection.

Lung cancer screening is essential for identifying cancer at its earliest stages, when treatment is most effective. By bringing diagnostics closer to patients, we enhance access to these vital services. Through the integration of workforce, technology, and robust clinical governance, we deliver a safe, high-quality screening experience.
