Xyla launches face-to-face therapy service for NHS Talking Therapies

Published 03 September, 2025

Xyla has launched a new face-to-face therapy service marking a significant evolution in how we support NHS Talking Therapies across the UK.

Building on the success of our remote therapy model, this new service offers in-person psychological therapy sessions, designed to meet the growing demand for flexible, accessible and high-quality mental health support. Already commissioned by NHS Talking Therapies, the service is being piloted with strong early uptake and promising feedback.

What’s new

While Xyla’s core offering remains unchanged, delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy, the face-to-face model introduces:

  • In-person therapy sessions delivered in local venues, offering greater choice for patients who prefer or require face to face support.
  • A full-service wraparound model appointment scheduling, clinical supervision, risk management and administrative support.
  • Sessional therapist scheduling, allowing multiple clinicians to share a single therapy room across the day, maximising efficiency and reducing cost.
  • Cost-optimised delivery, where services only pay for completed appointments, not therapist downtime.

Why it matters

This new model is a direct response to the evolving needs of NHS services and patients post-pandemic. While remote therapy has proven effective, many services are under pressure to offer in-person options due to digital exclusion, privacy concerns or clinical preference.

Xyla’s face to face model is uniquely positioned to meet this need, offering the flexibility and scalability of remote delivery, with the personal touch of in-person care.

A unique offering in the market

Xyla is currently the only provider offering this hybrid model at scale. By leveraging Acacium Group’s national network of over 2,500 trained clinicians, we can mobilise services quickly and flexibly, tailoring delivery to each region’s needs.

This service is already live and available to NHS Talking Therapies across the UK. The model has been met with enthusiasm from both clinicians and commissioners.
